I've never seen the words 'zone 2' on here before.

'The range of minimum average temperatures for zone 2 is between -50°F and -40°F or -45.6°C and -40°C.'

Good grief! Never mind palms, I don't think I'd be hardy in zone 2.

As a Tennessee native thats lived in Florida for almost 6 years now, i dont think im hardy to zone 7b lol

Unfortunately our summers regularly push 100F with scorching hot prairie winds that whip through my Adonidia fronds and give them a good burn 😢 then it’s back to -20F for 9 months 🤷🏼‍♂️😢🥶🇨🇦

Kudos for managing to keep palms in such a ridiculous climate! Your A. merrillii look the picture of health. I never realised Canada got such temperature extremes; I just vaguely assumed it was a bit chilly most of the time.

I have some palms in the ground here in zone 6a/5b area in Chicago, It’s the first winter my windmill is having and it’s doing pretty great with all the protection, especially during the negatives.

Yes in zone 2 you have 45 mn on the 15 th of July between 1 and 1:45pm. Then back in for a year 🤣

That would certainly help me not scorch 75% of the foliage due to lazy acclimation 😉😆👍🏻❤️

last overnight frost is always last week of May.  After that they are out until second week of September give or take ❤️❤️❤️
