Maybe the Lipstick Palm? I think they can die at 40 degrees

There are (or were, prior to Cyclone Alfred) Pigafetta growing in SE QLD so it is less sensitive to cold than Cyrtostachys renda. Same goes for Vershaffeltia which is even growing in Northern NSW.

i think Cyrtostachys is hardier than some of the palms mentioned here
