Before Photography went digital, photographers relied on film to capture ..pretty much everything..   Part of the enjoyment in using film was waiting for pictures to be developed, or, if you were lucky enough to take Photography in High School, learning how to develop pictures yourself..  Something every legit photographer should have experience doing, even if you'll likely never need to..

The downside of using film of course is having a ton of  "reject" pictures hanging around alongside the great shots ...Can't just hit delete on a film camera.

I recently had several boxes of stuff i'd had in storage for about 15 or so years sent here, including a fair chunk of photographs taken in the 90's and early/mid 2k's.. Didn't realize i had some pictures from as far back as 1989 or 1990 in the mix as well.

Going through them, found several i thought would be share- worthy, figuring certain people would appreciate it..  Fun to take a look back toward the beginnings of a long journey to come..  In some cases, film pictures were taken on is long gone..  That happens when you move around a lot..

Landscapes..

Looking toward Pine Ridge in Henry Coe State park from the southwest shoe of  Anderson Reservoir, 2008. Pines atop the ridge are Pacific Ponderosa Pine, Pinus ponderosa ssp. benthamiana.

North section of the Greystone Hills area, before it was destroyed, by the building a Golf Course.. New Almaden, CA. 1991 ..or '92. Hard to see in this view but the trail in front of me descends down a very steep hill. Great after school / on the weekends workout on a Mountain Bike when not out here looking for plants/ other stuff...  I wish i had veered the picture a little more to the right when taken.. Barely noticeable in the picture, but the picture was taken a few years before a housing development was built in the flat area below the low ridge in the center of the picture on the far right.  View is looking south.
