First time growing these. About a month since I soaked seeds. Anyone else doing the same? Seem to be slower growing than my Bermudana and Palmetto seedlings of

I collected 9 seeds that I suspect are S. Mauritiiformis. But it could've been Gretheriae too. 6 of them sprouted and they grow as slow as my S. Yapas.

Mauritiiformis is the most cold sensitive Sabal or so I’ve read and is at risk below 32F. It is hardy here in SWFL but in Austin, I don’t know.

@PalmatierMeg I have several smallish ones in the ground here in the Orlando area, ranging from 6" fans up to about 2' diameter fans.  They all did okay at 24-25F here in January, but most had some kind of canopy for frost protection.  The biggest one took about 25% frond burn, most likely from the frost.  It is in the coldest spot and had tallish stuff nearby but not directly overhead.  So while "kinda hardy" it's definitely not 0F Austin snowpocalypse hardy!  :D
