Ravenea hildebrandtii

Anyone want to show off any updated pics of their R. hildebrandtii?   I got four 4-inchers from Floribunda last year.  Potted up to 1g, and tucked in the understory, they get hit with dappled sun, a couple hours of direct sun, and late day shade from the house.   Are really happy with no special care here.   Real winners in South Florida if you’ve got some shady or part-sun spots, and want a smaller palm.

All under the same conditions….  As usual, one speed-demon, two mediums, and one slower, but all pretty happy.

Wow! thats some nice growth there. I bought (1) 1 gal. from Floribunda a couple of months ago and its already put out 2 new leaves with a 3rd on the way. Mine sits on a shelf with a 2 gph dripper on it in mostly shade. I saw someone here on PT that had a beauty in a pot, maybe 15 gal and that was my inspiration to get one. My plan is to leave it potted.

Yeah, these seem pretty happy here.  With lows in the 80s at night lately, it’s interesting to see what various palms do this time of year.   Some start cranking, and some stop growing.   These guys seem happy with it.

This is the one I was referencing from @Cape Garrett such a nice looking palm!

Yep, I’m with you, some stuff is growing like crazy and some things are getting “stunty” short new spears opening a bit early… it seems like its the heat anyway.

Man, that one is aspirational.   Update!, @Cape Garrett.   Maybe I’ll leave one in a pot, in roof overhang shade by the pool, but I’ve found pots can be way more challenging than the ground for me.  My errors wash away into the sand, but in pots, they seem to haunt me forever.
