Can Chamaedorea Tepejilote Be Grown In Groups?

Featured Replies

I'm gonna order some C. Tepejilote seeds today (40 seeds to be exact) and I was wondering if I could maybe make a small group of 3-5 Palms, Would they have trouble if I made that? Germination tips for this species would also be helpful, Thanks.

I’ve got a triple. These are tough palms. I recently dug this trio from my front yard and moved to my backyard two months ago and they’ve continued growing vigorously. I’ve had them several years. The smallest one sprouted two years ago. They grow well in groups.

Thanks! Do you think these are easy to sprout?

Bottom heat if necessary and moisture and they should sprout. I’ve had a few sprout in my garden in the past so you should not have a problem if seeds aren’t fresh.

Thank You.

I've got 3 community pots of C. tepejilote started this winter, just sulked and did nothing ( no bottom heat) put them outside in may, now they're all popping up. I have germinated radicalis as well, and they did the same thing. So I'd say yes they are easy to start but I'm also a patient/lazy gardener :D
