I love the scientific labels by the palms. Additionally, to include its native location is a great idea as I am trying to commit to memory not just the names but where and how each palm grows. Thanks for always having great responses.

Interesting. Where I live wood and bark chips are very plentiful. They are discouraged from use in business and commercial gardens mainly because of their flammability from discarded cigarettes.

You can try asking local tree trimmers if they have any to give away. Here in florida, most tree trimmers will deliver and dump a whole truck-load off for free. It costs them to take it to the landfill, you are doing them a favor to take it off their hands. All mulch will hold moisture in the soil, feed good microbes, and breakdown to black gold over time. Your palms will love you for it.
