Trunk Trimming?

Featured Replies

I have 4 Majesty Palms.  I live in Indiana. They live outside in pots by the pool all spring, summer and most of fall then they live  inside my house for the winter.  This is their 5th summer with me.  Question, do I trim back the thick layers at the bottom of the trunk or leave it alone?

I have no experience with majesties because they don't sell them in my city but if I was you, I wouldn't trim the trunk because the palm looks like a juvenile still.

At this point, I would not cut away any of the old boots. Let them grow more and at some point, you should be able to pull them off rather easy.

Just my 2 cents.....

Thanks for the replies. They do come right off, like they are just hanging there not attached. I didn’t know if it would cause damage to remove the outer layers.

you know when they are ready when you can just pull them off with no tension
