That's amazing @Dr. George!

I only have babies and infants. This was planted out last fall from a 3g. All the stems have opened new leaves.

These are "black petiole" just received from Floribunda. It'll be a while before these get planted out.

I have contributed a few palms to @Foggy Paul, he is doing a great job, and his efforts have produced a garden that looks older than its actual age.  :greenthumb:

Reviving an old thread. I planted this one out as a 4" tree-pot seedling about 2-1/2 years ago. Never a complaint from it, just slow and steady growth. The newest leaf to open is almost twice the size of the last one, which can only be a good sign.

The new spear seems to be emerging faster than previous leaves did.

I may have to cut further into the deck to accommodate it, but I will wait to see this palm's propensity to produce new stems. Stem girth seems quite variable as well, so who knows?

The two baronii seedlings below came from a parent showing little to no petiole at maturity.

Quite a few varieties out there, share your photos and observations if you're so inclined.

After @tim_brissy_13 commented on the in-ground Chrysalidocarpus in my photo, I have had a close look and must agree that it bears no meaningful resemblance to any C baronii variety I've seen at a comparable stage of growth, but rather most closely resembles C ambositrae. Not being very knowledgeable about the genus, I also neglected to consider that I believe C baronii is not a tillering palm but that mine has a heel (seen in photo below).

Seems my actual C baronii lies in this other bed.

Nothing exceptional, but a bit of color.

Also have this attractive seedling I bought from Len as "stepped trunk," but I think I will just stick with the bigger plant already in the ground.

Here’s my Baronii. It’s been a great grower for me. 3.5yrs ago it was a single stick 1G from FB. It appears to have stopped splitting but who knows. Seems to like what I’m doing….whatever that is.

I have two Baronii clumps in the ground, both from Floribunda.  I did have a third cluster that I bought at a local CFPACS sale.  I planted it...and it just sat there looking sad for a year with no motion whatsoever.  The Floribunda ones have done fairly well.  One was in full PM sun and did ok, if a bit pale.  Then the bamboo grew up behind it and provided a lot of shade.  I just moved it this evening to a new full sun spot.  I really needed a fairly dense clump at this location for sight and sound block, and clearly this one was just never going to be a really dense cluster.  But the left trunk is just barely trunking!!!

I just pulled an old leaf boot off and revealed this bright waxy trunk. Noticing the red isn't really a thing for this plant anymore. It used to have bright red showing, just a few months ago!
