Tonight’s GFS forecast is a good illustration of the impact of urbanization. Take a look at forecast for DFW and Austin tonight. DFW airport is expecting 25F, rural areas in the low teens to single digits. Downtown Austin 25F as well, rural area low/mid teens.

Whenever I get asked if climate change is real, I say ask yourself if you have ever laid on asphalt in the sun. Yes, it’s real for anyone in a very urbanized area like Dallas, Houston, Phoenix for example.

Wow, a 10+ degree difference. Climate change affects rural areas as well, not just cities.
