Thanks! It's been 3 years since I started. Definitely doesn't feel that long

 I can't compete with that, at least with our new home and much smaller property. I do miss the old place but it was a lot of work. You've done a fantastic job planning and planting your exotic garden. :D

Fantastic garden!!! You really have done a nice job on the landscaping with palms and tropical plants. It rocks!

What is this little gem of a palm tucked in the corner of the house? How long has it been in the ground.?

Thanks Barrie! It's been about an even split between planning, trial and error, and luck haha. The garden is still very young so I'm hoping the coming years are kind to me :D

Thanks a bunch! Can't wait for spring; I've got some plans in the works B)

That's a Chamaedorea Cataractum, I planted it this season so it's about to see its first winter. I don't plan on protecting it so we'll see how it does in this little cove

I'd say it hardy in that spot to 24F but you could prove me wrong, LOL. Good luck can't wait to see how it does they do get pretty tall

I'd be super happy if it handled 24F where it's at. The white bird of paradise is about to go through its 2nd winter in the ground. It saw 24F its first winter and handled it pretty well. I've had good luck with a yucca cane in the same general area - two winters in the ground and hasn't flinched. 25F was the lowest winter 1 and 24F winter 2.

Also, please excuse the window haha

It's been really warm in Central California up until now. Despite an early rain storm, it's actually been rather dry as well. My plumeria haven't even dropped their leaves yet. I'm not complaining :)

Thanks!  It definitely has Butia in it.  It's going on five years in the ground from a small three gallon size.  I originally got it on eBay and the seller thought it might have Jubaea in it also, so that's how it was sold.  There were a couple threads on here about it as well... @IdolLurker was the seller.

Thanks!  It's a natural clustering palm as well.  Local hybridizer Rich Lindberg has 7 in large pots, grown from the same bath of seed.  All have multiple stems now and most are flowering.  I'll probably let mine set seed naturally as these are very rare in cultivation.

I think they look a lot like Beccariophoenix alfredii.  Which is certainly a beauty.

FRF is located in Port Townsend, Washington 8b/9a.  Great exotic plants from around the world that are mostly hardy for z8 and up.  Who knew they did mail order too!!!

Far Reaches is so cool.  So many rare and unheard-of plants.  I got a few plants from there this past summer, including a really cool fern called Pteris Wallichiana and a Schefflera fengii.

Also... Dave, looking at those Sabals...  Someday when I'm old and retired I want to start a business just making constant runs from FL up to the PNW, hauling full-sized regenerated Sabals.

Just found next years seed pods starting to come out, last year they first began coming out in March. I’m curious what others around me have found for limits they can push with trachycarpus fortunei?
