MattyB
Just noticed this gal flowering for the first time. Lots of bees so hopefully it’ll set some seed. 13 Matt Bradford "Manambe Lavaka" Spring Valley, CA (8.5 miles inland from San Diego Bay) 10B on the hill (635 ft. elevation) 9B in the canyon (520 ft. elevation)

Nice Matty! What cold temperatures has it seen? Any less hardy than regular E. edulis? Jon Sunder

I reliably get down to 42f a handful of times every winter. It’s seen 38f a few times over the years. So I can’t really comment on how it does with real cold. John hovancsek
Get ready for purple hands when cleaning the seed or even collecting them. I have had them hit me in the face when sawing them out of the tree and they left purple spots. Beautifully grown
TomJ
Nicest one I've seen here in So Cal. I have four in the ground from 1gls. So far they seem to be pretty slow. Was there a point when yours clicked in? How big was it when you planted it out? Was it robust from the get go?

Worth the purple stains in my opinion! 1 Jon Sunder

I don’t remember exactly but I probably got it up to a 5 gallon size before I planted it out but from what I remember it always grew at a nice pace.I don’t remember exactly but I probably got it up to a 5 gallon size before I planted it out but from what I remember it always grew at a nice pace.
