Beccariophoenix mad first flowering attempt

Hey all, I thought this was interesting. My neighbor and I each planted one of these as one gallon plants in 2010. They are each pushing 20 feet tall, and neither has any clear trunk yet. So it was a bit of a surprise after doing a bit of cleanup to see this… Always cool nonetheless!

Wonderful!  Alfie's take about 20 years (from seed) to flower. I don't know about Mads.

5 year high 42.2C/108F (07/06/2018)--5 year low 4.6C/40.3F (1/19/2023)--Lowest recent/current winter: 4.6C/40.3F (1/19/2023)

We’ll see about the alfredii. He has an absolutely enormous one that’s about the same age. At the rate it’s going I wouldn’t be surprised if it flowered soon.

Awesome. Do you have a pic of the whole plant?  Thanks for sharing.

Believe or not, it shows the scale of it when I’m backed off a bit..
