Me next to a grouping of Washingtonia planted at my brother's old house about 15 years ago in Bushnell, Florida (central Florida just south of I-75 and where the Turnpike starts)

Also dug a couple smaller but fruiting Butia palms with beautiful silver-blue coloring and transplanting them to my house in Jacksonville for future mule palm production.  Interesting was a Butia next to these that is nearly three to four times larger, though all were planted from three gallons and received the same level of neglect since 2007...

Nice color on that Butia Scott!  I'm partial to the bluer palms myself.  Its color is very similar to my largest Butia.

Yes, I remember when we planted these how blue they were, and when I contacted the owner and he approved us coming over to dig them I was ecstatic that they were still here and even more so that one was fruiting!  Should make some lovely hybrids!!!

The two Butia are planted, actually went easier than expected considering I was working alone.  Hoping they make some nice looking hybrids.
