I took this pic around 2003.  It resides in a friend's yard in La Mesa, Ca, USA.  I've posted this image so many times over the years, so I don't remember if I have posted it here before.  My friend has had the plant since the early 1970's.

It's just a regular Birdsnest fern, but it's BIG.

Nice!! it looks like its happy in its location.  i use to grow mine under netting so leaves harldy get caught in between the leaves.   I noticed that once this happens the fern suddenly grows huge!!!

I have a  few that are planted on the ground under trees and they catch a lot of leaf litter - each leaf is about 5 feet tall.
