Historic Weather Data

Does anyone know of a good website to look up historic weather data?  I'm trying to find historic mininum temps for my area. I know weather underground has historic data but I know some of the numbers are wrong as it doesn't show the winter storm we had earlier this year and it says we got into single digits last year. Which I know we did not.

Thanks.

Welcome to Palmtalk! The best place to find this type of data is the National Weather Service. I will attach the link to the bottom of this comment, but here is how you access what you need. Choose the station or area you want to look for, then once that is selected look for what type of data you want (there are several options), then choose the time period, then hit "Go". This should give you what you need. Hope this helps!

For the United States:

The NWS (formerly The Weather Bureau) has been producing a monthly publication known as 'CLIMATOLOGICAL DATA', with an annual edition, for each state since the late 1800s.

All of the 'official' stations recognized by the NWS (ASOS and COOP) have their quality controlled data in there: daily and monthly summarized temperature and precipitation, etc.

For Washington state, thats about 160 stations, including Olympia.

You can access it free of charge at the NCEI/NCDC (National Climatic Data Center) website:

The information you are looking at is from the Olympia airport which is much colder at night than the city of Olympia. What part of Olympia are you from that would give me idea of your climate or micro climate.

Olympia is the nearest city of reference, I actually live in Rochester which is about 15 minutes south.   Thanks.

Your best bet is to go with weather station at Centralia/Chehalis.  Roschester is to far from Olympia to give you any real weather data. Welcome to PalmTalk.

Thank you.  I've been creeping on this forum occasionally since last spring when I first got into tropical/exotic plants.  Finally decided to join, mostly so I can ask questions of course.
