I Know Mc Curtains get a lot of hate but I am proud of my largest one. This is mine 2 months after the arctic blast with a low of 4 degrees and full exposure to wind. No protection given to it what so ever!

    Sabal minor are way underrated in the landscape.  Tropical evergreen in cold climates gives great winter look.

    if you look to the right of the base of the palm, there are 2 sabal lousiana seedlings that made it unscathed completely unprotected and exposed to the elements.

    What's there to hate?  Great palms.

    It's lack of a trunk makes folks think it's not tropical and doesn't provide that typical palm look but I have grown to love them..  It's especially great to have local native ones in our landscapes.

    It is not slower than my Blountstown dwarf and I can't hope to get more than 2-3 leaves out of any Sabal minor anyway where I live. So, I am happy with my McCurtain.

    I just ordered a 7 gallon McCurtain from Northeast Ohio Palms.

    Im going to see if I can get one to grow here in Central Utah

    I hope mine fares as well as yours
