Impressive Butia! How long have you been growing that one?!

I planted it 11 years ago with a 50cm trunk.

Its an Butia capitata and this is how i shelter it in winter.

hello Ehrenbruder,

are you sure that the big Butia is in your front garden? Even though this is an international palm forum, there are still members living in Germany (like me) to uncover your untruth.
I hardly believe that there are two large Butias of this size standing in front of identical-looking houses in Germany.

In reality, this Butia is located in Freiburg, 600+ km southwest of Hamburg.

And here are a few links from different german-speaking exotic forums, all claiming that the Butia, well-known among enthusiasts, is actually in Freiburg:

If I am wrong and there are actually two identical-looking houses, one in Hamburg and one in Freiburg and both with a large Butia infront, then I will apologise for the misunderstanding.

But otherwise, I can only tell you that this is not a good start into this forum.

I know this Butia it's very well known in German forums and it's located in Freiburg.
