Tree saver slow release fertilizer? Got an order today, have some questions.

Hi all,

I just received an Amazon order from Tree Saver for their fertilizer that has “100% of the macro-nutrients” in slow release form, but it looks like almost half the bag is filled with granules instead of polymer-coated balls and I’m confused. Also, I missed this before seeing the label in-person, but even though they claim 100% of the macro-nutrients are slow release, only 7.2% of the 8% N is listed as slow release on the label, along with 10.8% out of the 12% K.

-Are all the granules just micro nutrients? Even though the granules make up about half the bag? Did I just get sent the wrong product or something?

-Is the drop in “instant” versus “slow” release in macros normal?

-Has anyone use this stuff and seen success? Got it for my spring fertilizer dose since all my palms are potted and I know instant release washes out immediately.

-How long after using instant release (palm gain) can I use slow release without burning? It’s been over a month since use for a few that I tried to curb winter yellowing on since I knew we were in for a warm snap for a week and a half. I know it washes out fast, but I’m not sure HOW fast and I definitely don’t want to burn anything.

Thanks in advance for all your help! I rarely used fertilizer consistently in the past much to my palms’ detriment and I’m finally trying to make the leap for a full growing season.
