I've grown sabal Minor and Sabal Mexicana from seed before and they're obviously Totally different but how does one Tell The difference between Sabal Minor and Sabal Palmetto in the strap stage?

eeny meeny miny moe is about all I use at that stage if I didn't label them.

All Sabals look very much alike in strap leaf stage.

For me...

Palmetto seems to be a little taller and thinner.  I think it becomes noticeable sort of early.  I might just be full of bs and think I notice a difference...

For sure palmetto puts out palmate leaves first.  A minor at the same young size will put out bifid leaves.
