Please rank these palms in order of cold hardiness.....

Before I get yelled at for being too lazy to do the research myself....I have. :D

Looked up every one and took notes!

Now I'm requesting some real life feedback from all of the seasoned veteran "Palm Talkers" here! :P

Here is the alphabetized list....feel free to reply with a ranking from most hardy to least hardy, if you'd like to post your opinion.

You can just put a number next to each one if it's easier to indicate the 1-10 ranking - with 1 being most hardy.

Thanks in advance!  ~Bazza  :shaka-2:

Areca vestiaria
Bentinckia condapanna
Carpoxylon macrospermum

Chamaedorea ernesti-augustii
Dypsis pembana
Euterpe edulis
Howea fosteriana

Kentiopsis oliviformis
Satakentia liukiuensis
Verschaffeltia splendida

The only one in your list that I have grown is Dypsis Pembana, which is hardy to 30F and frost, but frost burned top leaves at 28F and frost.  K. O. seedling 18" tall was undamaged at about 30-31F in a frost-sheltered spot.

I would look up Kinzyjr's sheet here:

Thank you for the Pembana & K.O. input! I remember your comments in other threads on those.

Looking at the thread you posted....if I read it right...it doesn't include any of the plants on my list, except the Kentia:

That list is only the most observed palms, not all of them.  Ex. Wodyetia bifurcata had 69 observations recorded at the time that table was posted - which was the most observations for any species.

Just did a quick check on my own copy of the list: Areca vestiaria, Carpoxylon macrospermum, Chamaedorea ernesti-augusti, Dypsis pembana, Euterpe edulis, Howea forsteriana, Kentiopsis oliviformis, Satakentia liukiuensis, and Verschaffeltia splendida all have observations in that spreadsheet.  The most current list is posted on the last post.  Not sure when I'll ever have time to update it again, unfortunately.

If you download the spreadsheet from the bottom of the thread it is pretty complete!  That sheet has saved me TONS of hours of searching, especially when I run across a new palm name.  Other observations are always popping up in the alphabetically sorted list in the same forum, so if you are looking for an individual species you can get more detail there.  The K.O. thread is here, for reference:

For example, Areca Vestiara is on lines 332-336, only 4 observations recorded.  But the ones there say Death at 28.5 and 29F, no damage at 34F, and no confirmation on survival in the 2009 extended 29F cold event in Orlando.  That one is "Event ID 22" in column L.  So if you wanted Areca Vestiara in New Smyrna it may survive in a semi-protected area.  But if you are far from the coast or in a cold, windy spot, it may be a bad choice unless it's a patio palm.
