Up to -8 ° C.  Do you think it will survive?  Can the palm tree improve with spring? Or too damaged?

Do you think it will die?  Now the temperature is about 12 ° in the day and 2 ° at night.

CIDP are very resiliant. You need to wait a while. Keep monitoring it as adviced and act if and as needed.

@Peachs, where are you? At least tell us the country. I promise I won't come to visit.

A couple sources indicate -8C (17.6F) is marginal for CIDP but may be survivable in a dry climate as they are desert palms. Is your cold dry or wet? CIDP show much foliage damage at -5C. You may find that what looks like minor damage now starts looking worse as time passes. You probably won't know if it will survive until spring and weather warms up. I've had cold damaged palms collapse dead as long as 9 months after a freeze.

Do check the spear - mark it too - and treat with H2O2 only when temps are well above freezing. Then wait.

CIDP can survive 17F pretty easily.  However, the fronds will totally burn below 20 (brown out and go dead).  The center spear should still be alive though.  It may push out a deformed spear or two as it recovers in spring.  Good luck.

Spain.  This winter was especially hard.  Dry climate, far from the coast.

How did it fare? Is it still alive?
