Got a bunch of these guys seller didn’t have a name as he bought the seed a long time ago and forgot the species . He has them labeled species very rare any ideas would be appreciated . Has anyone every seen this on the underside ? And this also goes down the petiole a little

    So I spoke with Mike Harris yesterday. He said this is probably the recently described spirituana . After looking it up in palms of Cuba seems as though that does fit. It describes this thick hair like white coating on the underside . Not much on the internet in regards to this species . I couldn’t find a single picture of one planted in a garden. Anyone have any coccothrinax spirituana in there garden?  

    I have a couple of spirituana "blue" that I got from FB 2 or 3 years ago. I am happy to report that they're all alive still and have grown from a single blade of grass appearance to a triple blade of grass appearance. They're really gonna be something in 30 years or so.

    Could you post a pic of the bottomside of your 'fronds' ? I've never seen anything quite like this heavy white coating on seedlings. A typical cocco for me,generally has a more uniform,light coating,as in this Coccothrinax gundlachii seedling.

    Another typical Coccothrinax I grow, (scoparia) only has the white coating on the inner half of the frond. Looking forward to seeing what these seedlings look like when more mature! :greenthumb:

    Here is a updated shot it just opened this leaf a month ago or so Definetly has changed from being in a green house whatever it is looks pretty .
