Cold Hardy Garden zone 8b/9a PNW

Our Garden in zone 8b/9a Pacific Northwest, Bowen Island BC in summertime.  Planted palms include T. fortunei, C. humilis, C. humilis var. cerifera, J. chilensis hybrid, R. hystrix, S. minor, T. wagnerianus.  Bananas are Musa basjoo.

I am in Portland. I’ve seen your YouTube videos, your garden is looking pretty good. For some reason there aren’t a ton of us from the PNW on here but a few of us persist.

Besides my mature large Tachy, I also have in the ground: W. robusta, C. Humilis var cerifera, S. minor, and B. odorata. I have a S. palmetto and a (BxJ)xS I look forward to planting this spring. 
 

Other than the palms, I also have several varieties of Eucalyptus, an Acacia, and several Cordylines growing on my property.

haha!  We are very lucky to have a temperate climate close to the ocean.  Just have to keep an eye out for the occasional winter arctic outflows that can wreak havoc.

I'm in zone 8B as well, but we got hotter summers.  We're about 90 minutes in from the Ocean but still feel its moderating effects, fortunately.  These are the species (23 in total) that I am currently growing in the ground, many have gone through multiple winters.  And I still have more species that I am growing out that I expect to do well.  I would think many of these would work for you.

Nice!  Yeah, I have potted up Livistona chinensis, Butia odorata, Brahea armata, Washingtonia robusta, filifera and filibusta, jubaea chilensis.  I am also ordering T. Princeps and Takil seeds hoping to grow those.  It’s tough to find good reputable sellers for those seeds but I think I found two good ones finally.  Cheers!

In the bullpen I have some Sabal “Lisa”, Sabal Riverside, queen palms, Livistona chinensis, Livistona mariae x decepiens, blue Jubaea, Sabal minor Emerald Isle giant, W. Filibusta, Butia x Jubaea, Trachycarpus Nainital and non hardy Becariophoenix alfredii and probably a couple other things I’ve forgotten about.
 

We can grow a surprising amount of palms. 
Some of mine may not make it long term but most of them will. I’ll provide an update in 10 years.

T. fortunei is relatively to source here, in fact we just pick it off Palms on the street.  The Takil I recently sourced from Rob Larkin (roseShopRob on You Tube) and have yet to germinate.  Here is a video of local fortune palms loaded with seed near me.
