Trachycarpus oreophilus - any experience

Is anyone currently growing Trachycarpus oreophilus?  Any info on how they do?  I'm assuming its a pretty easy care palm.  I looked at the freeze damage section and not a lot in there.

It may be the nicest looking Trachy out there and I would like to try one, and I have access to one but I think it will come with a hefty pricetag.

Just go for a Trachycarpus ukhrulensis which is very similar if the oreo is too expensive. I personally find it even more attractive. However, both of them are not extremely coldhardy. In my garden T. ukhrulensis has been much less hardy than fortunei and also princeps.

Good to know thanks. I think finding ukhrulensis in North America is going to be particularly challenging. Those of you in Europe and the UK seem to have better access to these types of palms.

Then go for that oreophilus you mention.  Because as far as I know, exports of plants and seeds from Thailand have been strictly prohibited for a few years now. So, unless someone is producing T. oreophilus outside of Thailand, it will be much more difficult to source in the near future.

Wow, I did not know this, what a shame.  Thanks.
