I have a Sabal blackburniana I’m contemplating using to replace my recently edited Livistona decora.

Tell me about them, in your experience?

Large bluish/green sabal. Medium grower for a sabal. Leaftips are more rigidly held than palmetto. At least thats the version of blackburniana I grew from seedlings in Central FL, pics from 2014 and 2019 grown in dry Florida sand.

Kew has this "provisionally listed as a synonym" for S. palmetto.  To where is this palm (S. "blacburniana") native?

There is a mature Sabal blackburniana at Lake Wire.

You can see it here: https://www.palmtalk.org/forum/index.php?/topic/61996-lake-wire-lakeland-fl/

along with a comment from Tex about how slow they grow.

As @tjwalters mentioned, they are listed as a synonym for Sabal palmetto by Kew: http://theplantlist.org/tpl1.1/record/kew-273777
