I thoroughly enjoyed the landscape at the SD Zoo (the animals aren't half bad either).

You got that right paulito! You have to be patient to get good shots of the ani-mules. Either that or keep whistling n' screaming " look at me!!! " :o

Wonderful photos, and it was enjoyable to view them without feeling the need to name each one.

The zoo looks like an automatic PRA to me. I haven't been there since I got into palms.

Nice photos. Any idea what the thin trunked palm was at the beginning of post number two? What Clinostigma was it that was pictured near the end? C harlandii?

Thanks for the tour. I think that squiggly leaved cycad in the pic was Macrozamia reidlii which is native around here.

Right by the crocks theres some Hyphorbe  indica in fruit.

Terry ~ Living in San Diego n' being into palms you really need a membership to the zoo & wap! $68 for one person or $86 for two people that live in the same house. Very much worth it!

Kris ~ I'm glad you enjoyed the many photo's!

madagascarbob ~ I did see them as well but for some reason I was distracted from taking a picture of them  :P

Tyronne ~ The thin trunked palm in post two is Normanbya normanbyi and the Cinostigma's are harlandii but the first and smaller one is savoryanum.

Osteolaemus tetraspis? or Paleosuchus?

(west African dwarf croc, or dwarf caimen?  Pretty sure it is the croc, a little rusty it has been a long time since I have kept either)

Looks like an Alligator sinensis or Chinese Alligator. The Cincinnati Zoo has several of these that look exactly like the one pictured.

The rest of the photos are great too.

Thanks for the ID. The Clino's look nice. I don't think the thin trunked one is a Normanbya. They don't look like that in the leaf or fruit that small. My ones here look larger than that and are no where near fruiting size. A fruiting one would have the dimensions of a fruiting foxtail.

I think it may be Ptychosperma caryotoides. I hope it is, because it would need some cool tolerance to grow alright in SD. I have a couple of small ones I'd like to plant.

They let me out of my cage long enough to allow me to go to the zoo.   I was there on the 22nd as well.   What a  coincidence.
