Parajubea at big box labeled as Fish Tail???

I was at my local big box store and was surprised to see huge 24” box size Parajubea with a big sign saying Fish Tail palm. However the price tags on the palms say Parajubea Sunkha.

These palms are huge over 15” across the base almost as wide as the boxes they are in.

Does Sunkha get that big? Are are they wrong on both accounts and these are Torallyii?

Could it be a mule palm ( Butia x Sygarus)? Which Home Depot is this? We never get stuff like that... I was at Lowes the other day & they we're selling 15 gallon Canaries, Trachycarpus & Butia's that were basically nice size 5 gallons for outrageous prices  ,total rip off!

Definitely a Parajubaea and looks like it could be sunkha with the drooping leaflets. Something that size here would be $1000s in the unlikely event that one was ever available.

True. I’d like to know how they got it that big in a box. They need a very big pot and like to get in the ground early, or they decline. I’d be buying it at that price even with the exchange rate being what it is.

They do get very large trunks. This one is about 4 feet in diameter:

My favorite ParaJubaea species. And they can take the summer heat and water and not get funked out and die like Torallyi and Cocoides. Don't see them at my local Home Depot so thank for the report!

Wow I did not know that. I was under the impression that they were a mini version of Torallyi. I might pick one up just not looking forward to digging the hole needed to plant the monster.

In Rancho Cucamonga.

Its a roll of the dice what they get. From time to time they get some decent stuff. They have had 24' box Mule Palms for the last few months which is a first as well.
