Sabal minor flowers

Hi CodyORB. No, I have no idea. I bought it this big at a nursery about a year ago. It had a dead inflorescence on it then.

They are prolific speeders of seedlings . You'll have little Minors all over the place soon enough .

This one is in habitat in North Carolina , so they can get big . You can see it is growing in a swamp so don't worry about overwatering  it .

Looks great and happy. We were excited to see ours flower too. The black fruit was fun to see develop. Our large Sabal minor is now mature and before it goes to seed the inflorescence is pruned off. Beautiful palm though and wish it had more room in our planting bed for it.

3 years ago when I got this place, there were many weed trees and shrubs. Now that they've been removed, the existing Sabal minor have had more opportunities to populate the understory. I see lots of seedlings. Sometimes I take an infructescence and toss it into an area where I'd like to see more.

As Will said, they'll spread. Mine are not as large at maturity as the one in his photo, but that's a good thing because the smaller stature (max. 6'/2m) works better in this landscape.
