Sabal miamiensis that I bought from Christian Faulkner probably 9 years ago as an almost seedling. There are 3 of them there, but they became shaded out by my Jaboticaba. This one found the sun about 2 years ago and shot up.

Great care-free palm.  I got these a few years ago and never have to pay them any mind.

I bought the same ones from Christian. Mine look the same. Thanks for sharing.

Yeah I have one on the way from Plant Delights. Was curious about cold hardiness and how fast they grow. Not alot of info on these online, but they look to be similar to etonia. 

Per the observations in the Cold Hardiness Observation Master Data:

Looks like they are decent down to about 10F or high single digits if you throw out the outlier of death at 29F.

I have strap leaves that handle the high teens fine. Much better than the sun lol

So, it's a partial shade palm?

I'll be testing the Leu Garden form in the coming years.

At a young age, in my climate anyway. I’ve had “full sun” cacti from Texas and palms from Florida etc perform much better in afternoon shade. . I’m just using boulders to shield from afternoon sun currently. I image it to be fine when it goes palmate. 

miamiensis & minor are definitely partial sun palms for me at a young age so far. I’ve lost a few to the death rays. Palmetto does fine in blazing sun for me.

My two Sabal miamiensis have been flowering and producing seeds for a few years now. They had no adverse reaction to this year's cold.

Mine has been in the ground since 2021. Got it from Steve Anderson (Florida, I believe). You can see the growth charts below with the y-axis in inches of top frond height. I believe the Miamiensis has gone unprotected the past 5 years and, as a result, it regularly experiences temps in the low teens. I haven't had any problems with it. Zero care.

Did you have two or three orders of branching on the inflorescence? Were the seeds 11-13 mm and fruit about 1.5cm in diameter or smaller?

The seeds were definitely large. As far as the branching goes, I'd have to verify. This was a Leu Gardens donation.
