I am not trying to make this political, so I would like to keep this conversation strictly about aesthetics.  I don't want to hear about whether you are happy or upset with the fact that they are getting a new flag.

However, since the state of reality is such that Mississippi is choosing a new flag, I think two of these new designs are really cool:

A.)

02-Mississippi-state-flag-finalists

B.)

05-Mississippi-state-flag-finalists

C.)

01-Mississippi-state-flag-finalists

D.)

04-Mississippi-state-flag-finalists

E.)

03-Mississippi-state-flag-finalists

really like A and D - especially D.  That would be one of the most aesthetic flags in the US if they chose it.  How about you guys?!

I met some really kind folk on a trip through Mississippi years back.  The south of the state has some lovely natural areas as well.

I don't dislike any of the presented options but I strongly vote for option D.

Too much intricate detail on a couple of them. It's a flag, gonna be flapping in the wind, keep it simple.

At first I thought the border line in A was a face with a big nose.  Nope.

In E the white flower looks good but will be lost in the white field.

I vote for D as well.

So many species,

so little time.

Coconut Creek, Florida

Zone 10b (Zone 11 except for once evey 10 or 20 years)

Last Freeze: 2011,50 Miles North of Fairchilds
