This will be the first year my C macroglossa hybrid has seeds that are almost ripe ( I think I just jinxed it). The first two years Hurricanes Matthew and Irma blew them away, and last year they were all eaten by parrots I think, (they were all found on ground with one bite out of them). So hopefully this year.... Any idea what the other parent could be? Someone suggested baileyana to me, but who knows. I originally bought it as a C macro.

That's a cool palm Charlene whatever it is!  Hopefully no nasty winds or critters get to the seeds so that you can sell some to me!  :D  I just un-jinxed it for you!

Sure, they should be ripe soon. I noticed they have lightened in color, to a brighter greenish. According to Paul’s book on Cop’s they are a yellowish- green when ripe.

How about x C. hospita?I'm focusing on the slightly bluer tint, the size, and the shape of the leaves.

Yes, I think this is it! Copernicia macroglossa x hospita.  It even has its own name. Copernicia x burretiana. I wonder what advantages it has...besides being beautiful, of course.

Yes, that's a possibility, it does look a lot like it! One advantage that gave it away at a fairly early age was it grew very fast. Hybrid vigor.
