I have seeds that have sprouted their roots already but have no leaves yet.  I have actually transplanted some of them into individual pots.

Is it beneficial to water them with a little rooting hormone added (like hormex) or will this harm them?

At what point is it beneficial to do this or even apply a weak fertilizer?

you can apply humic acid/humates + kelp right away(a natural fertilizer).  It is a reliable root stimulator for any size palm.  I also use superthrive/B1 on my little seedlings.

Formerly in Gilbert AZ, zone 9a/9b. Now in Palmetto, Florida Zone 9b/10a??

Gene,

Hormex works good for me. Remember that some palms will have roots for quite a while before anything comes up, and some are the oposite. They should send up a sprout sooner or later.

Gene, I haven't tried root hormones but as far as fertilizer,  the seed provides nurishment to the seedling for the first month or two after germination so there's no need to fertilize immediately.  I'd wait until the first leaf appears.

The fertilizer I use is called "Dynamite".  It's in a green colored plastic bottle which you can find at Lowe's, HD, or Wal-Mart.

I guess that I will wait for some leaves to come out first.  I Guess I am still over eager at this point and if I am overeager I might end up doing more harm than good.

Yeah I do have superthrive now.  You are right it often disappears in teh phillipine market as well for quite a time .  I will have to stockpile  the next time they becime available.

I do plan to do that when these seeds have leaves already.  Maybe in a month or so because none of my seeds have any leaves yet.
