Found a flyer in my mailbox this afternoon. I am skeptical but does anyone have experience with this Palm?

Regular ol'  Mule, or more correctly, Syagrus romanzoffiana X Butia capitata cross.. Nothing extra special about it.. Same " Nursery " tries to peddle the same snake oil here ( giving stuff some silly name they thought up ).. Toss that flyer in the trash bin ..or use it as kindling in the fire pit.  I let my Basenji shred it each time a flyer appears in my mailbox. :)

Love their description "...Amazing new introduction to the realm of Palm Trees.. Developed over the past decade at our labs and farms.. "  ..OUR.. Labs and Farms "?? Really?? :floor:

They have been marketing "Piru Queens" as some special extra cold-hardy Syagrus romanzoffiana for years.  Never any mention of them being grown from Santa Catarina or Uraguay habitat trees and I doubt that there's any evidence that they're any different than the standard queen.  I guess now the "King" refers to the Butia in the cross with the "Piru Queen".

They have this the wrong way around, as well.  A mule is a Butia x Syagrus, not the other way around.

Apparently i posted it backwards as well :blink2:..   Permission granted to flog me with my own shoe, lol:D
