OK, question about this  palm Arenga porphyrocarpa

Read this about the palm  "An erect dwarf palm up to 3 m tall, growing in clumps, dying after flowering; "

So does the entire clump die when it flowers or only the flowering stem like Caryota?

The reason I ask is mine was doing really fine and then it died.  Don't know if it was my bad care or the fact that it may have flowered.  I can't remember it flowering.  Pictures below.  The live picture was 2008.  The first and last the other day.  Not sure when it died but it's been a few years.

With  Arenga engleri and most arenga species i believe only the flowering stock dies but the suckers keep growing not sure about your species .They like lots of water just not soggy soil.

:Yea death was most likely water related like most of those I lost during period when I was not paying attention to my battery operated timers or rat damage to water lines.
