Good Moss/Grass to put in pot?

Recommended Posts

Is there a good moss or grass that could be put in the pot to liven up the appearance around the base of the trunk? Or would that be a bad idea?

Thanks!

I wouldn't add another living plant that will compete with the palm for water/nutrients.  I'd rather use a decorative stone or shells but in my HOT dry summers I go with wood chips as mulch to retain moisture.

I have to agree with Fusca.   I tried stone in pots before but out in the sun they heated up to the point that they were scalding the palm trunk! :(
