Ok so this is probably nothing to write home about but it got me a little fired up so I thought I'd share. 

So over the winter we'd pull handfuls of trachy hair off one of the trees to use to start our fires. It's crazy flammable. Anyways I was cleaning up around the yard today and noticed a yellow spot on the trunk of said tree. I took a closer look and noticed it was an old boot. So I cleaned some more and got some more yellow, and some more, and some more. I dunno if this is a typical coloration of old trachy boots but im hoping it stays.

Looks pretty cool! Sort of makes me think of a CIDP, just size mini!

Right! It somewhat resembles the trunk of my Phoenix sylvestris - definitely gives it a unique look.

That's the other thing I noticed while cleaning. The overlapping of old boots is tighter than that of my other trachies. It almost has the appearance of snake skin
