Hi all

I have always noticed the oldest leaves seem to die back a but quicker than normal. Then I noticed today the leaves looked to have a fungal growth on them. 

Anbody able to tell me what it us and how to deal with it. 

Palm is in shade house with no real direct sunlight, with overhead irrigation, we have just finished our summer season and are coming into autumn. Palm is about 7 years old.

Palm older than expected

You have a picture of the whole plant as well.

With the picture clarity I can't quite see,  but it looks like scale to me.

If it's predominately on the underside and comes off by rubbing your thumb across alas you have scale.

The top of leaf will get brown spots where the scale has manifested.

The good news is either a blast of high pressure water from the hose or rub it off with dish washing soap, water, and a cloth.

I just noticed a Cyphophoenix Nucele of mine was infested.  High pressure water is what I used to remove.

One of the two plants with the issue. They are always pushing new growth and seem healthy enough to me. But the oldest leaves seem to have these issues.
