Yeah i was getting my hopes up a bit to high haha. I wonder if you could grow Coconuts in Mexico city at 2 250 at around 18 degrees north. dips are extremly rare and the climate is pretty much a static 25/15 in summer and 20/10 in Winter.

The short of it is:  The latitude is fantastic. However, the detrimental factor is the elevation.

Coconuts can not grow in the wild (as if there were any space available anyway, lol) in Mexico city.

In my latitude, 32.7 north,  my problem is the other way around.  My altitude is only 140m above sea level, however my high latitude does not help matters regarding coconuts.

Eta:

But hey, you just never know. Had I read the coconut situation in my region prior to ordering my first coconut back in 2016 on Ebay. I think I would not have ordered it.  Ironically, I now have 5 planted coconuts in my garden.

Anything is possible, within reason, of course.

I see, yeah pushing zones is probably fun. I will try and plant some borderline Tropicals in my garden this spring and make pvc frame and wrap it in frost cloth and put a heating lamp at the bottom for cold nights in the winter.
