The trunking Phoenix palms of hatteras island

In the town of hatteras on cape hatteras I found a small residential area with 3 old trunking canary island date palms. All look semi rugged but relatively healthy.  The first one ia found right across the walking bridge over a marshy areas with reeds and some sabal minor.

The next 2 are a little past that one closer to the Pamlico sound area.  This big one is by the ferry launch. Looks great this far north and this close to the water. 

And this one by a marina in the same general area .  A little rougher due to no building protection near the water but doing well nonetheless.

Another large trunking one in Buxton near the grocery store

One on a backroad in Frisco.  Smaller but seems to be trunking a little

Wow. I’d say that I was surprised that CIDP grow so far north, but Hatteras is an 8b zone, correct?

Its supposed to be but they get colder winters sometimes. 2017-18 killed some stuff around there.  Saw 2 washy trunks and one CIDP across the street from the ocean didn't make it.  I've only seen one washy around here looked like a filibusta in Avon.   It's one volunteer died.
