When I was at Green's today, they had this one clumping pinnate palm.  It is the only one they had and I may buy it if still there next time.  Narrow(but not Chamaedorea narrow) bamboo like trunk and clustering.  Any ideas of the species or even genus?

Premorse leaflet ends = Prychosperma.

I would guess mccarthuri.

Thank you Joe.  I agree on Ptchosperma and P. macarthurii seems fairly likely.

P. macarthurii is an excellent choice for 10a areas of Central Florida that get the occasional light freeze.

At $40, this might not be a bad pickup next time I am there.  At a big box store, you know they would be trying to sell one that size for $200+.

Looks very similar.  The leaflets on the palm in your photo Palm Meir look slightly different but I suppose this could be related to the age of the plant or even just natural variability.  At the very least, I am very certain this is a clumping Ptychosperma.  Actually, the leaves really resemble Ptychosperma microcarpum to me, now that I think about it.

I could totally see Ptychosperma microcarpum (see attached for an example).

It really could be any of the three.  This thread has renewed my interest in Ptychosperma a bit.
