Okay well JUST when I think I’ve uncovered all the interesting and unique palm species I’m inevitably going to collect one day, another one makes my list. Never heard of this species and it’s a looker to say the least. Thanks for the post!

Former South Florida resident living in the Greater Orlando Area, zone 9b.

Constantly wishing I could still grow zone 10 palms worry-free, but also trying to appease my strange fixation with Washingtonias.

It will be fun watching yours blow by our California ones.

Post pictures as it grows.

Amazing how well these do in a broad range of climates.

After nearly carking after the 2018 volcanic eruption, mine has revived. Pushing that new leaf for several days now.

Glad to see how adaptable these unusual palms are and that they can withstand a wide range of humidity and temps.

Here’s another photo to add to the mix.

Very nice Matt!

I wish that palm could grow here that well, anything for a Mad Fox.

South Florida

Heck Matt, you just might get some viable seed. Mine flowers all the time and has yet to produce any seed. I’m talking a couple of years now.

If you get seed make sure you wait for them to break open. They will always stay green but they will break open when ripe

Seed are falling while green. Think they're any good @John hovancsek?

When ripe they pop open like popcorn and the hard seed inside is very round looking like smaller Macademia Nuts.

They look good but a bunch will abort before they are ready. Just like dean said, they will stay green but when ready they will open. It is almost like they are cleaning themselves off of the fruit

I found a pic
