Here at Leu Gardens we have 2 Acrocomia aculeata growing next to each other. They are about 40ft tall. They are young, they germinated from seeds in summer 1993 in situ. They have flowered for several years but right now both have a few inflorescences. They have a very strong fragrance, similar to Arenga engleri but much more musky. Has anyone noticed Acrocomia fragrance before?

Heres a couple photos of the palms, I couldn't get one right now of the inflorescences as they hold the dead fronds and they didn't shop up well in a photo;

Theres one near to my house and every spring and summertime feel its fragance from long distance.- Tipical and nice fragance.- In some towns in the north they are abundant as urban tree and is the only smell possible to feel, the tipical Acrocomia fragance.-
