Bangalow

Featured Replies

We recently purchased a property with an established garden. The garden has a group of 5 Bangalow palms that have started dying about 4-6 weeks after we moved in. They split in sections along the truck. Dry/rotting.

We have lost the smaller of the trees with the others heading the same way.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Not sure what the problem is. You may get more responses if you post in the main forum "Discussing Palm Trees Worldwide" and put a picture of the trees in. Hopefully they can help!

Still have a garden in Zone 9a Inland North Central Florida (Ocala)

This sounds like a recent discussion on here. I’ve included a link to it. Hope it helps.

The black on the trunks is Steri-prune. I was told to apply this product to the damaged areas on the trucks.

We live in Mildura, Victoria, Australia.

Without seeing the state of the leaves it is hard to tell but I reckon it is lack of water. These palms live in streams and areas that are moist to wet. Unfortunately the trunk damage will never repair. They could be too far gone.
