Very nice! Would be nice to see more people try to hybridize these as landscaping trees for central FL. Ive heard insignis is much more frost hardy so would be a good parent species.

C. Insignis is a great species which will even tolerate the heat here in Phoenix, esp. if given a break from the worst of it in the afternoon, during the summer.   Strangely, the biggest specimens i have observed to - date locally, were down in Tucson, which is typically colder, when we see frost / freeze events, than here in most of the Valley.. Only specimen i have encountered here ( would suspect there are others.. ) is a small 8-10 footer at Desert Botanical. True, unless you keep it small, needs some room to spread out.

Like the flower color contrast compared to Floss Silk ( Chorisia / Cebia speciosa ).

It is a great little tree , much smaller stature than  c. specious , can’t say if I have seen any difference in cold tolerance, both varieties do well here .

Just wordless, if I had every plant I like when I see it, My house would have to be the size of Florida.
