Search engine “Escosia” plants trees with advertising revenue

Has anybody heard of this new search engine called “escosia”?

Apparently they use their advertising revenue to plant trees and they’ve already planted over 54 million.

Yeah it seems too high to be true. Especially for an organization I had never before heard of.

It turns out that the search engine has been around since 2011. So I was wrong to say its "new". They say it takes on average 50 searches to generate the revenue to plant 1 tree, and they keep track of how many searches you have done. So since I started using it a couple of weeks ago I have done enough searches to plant about 3 trees.

I wonder how much they actually make with ads. I heard that ads don't generate a lot of money endless tons of people use the engine daily. On Android the app has over 1 million downloads, so that's good.
