58-61F around Chandler atm, on the way to a forecast high in the 62-65F range this afternoon under sunny skies..  Looks like the first weekend of the year will feature picture perfect AZ winter weather complete w/ a run at the low 70s by Sunday.  Cools off by Wednesday, though not getting quite as cool as it has been recently.

Further out, Weather models are all over the place.. Some have been suggesting a return of cool and sometimes wet weather, others.. ( and other runs..)  suggest cool, but not cold.. and dry for the VOTS heading toward mid month.

Regardless, Something to watch since a few runs yesterday were quite bullish on pushing some extremely cold air south out of Canada into the Pac. N.W., ( sub zero lows )and later into CA and the Southwest/ Inter Mtn West. Same models have backed off significantly on that "idea", at least for now.. That comes after those same models ( tidbits gfs, / more evident on Pivotal WX's  GFS, CFS.. which goes out to 768 hours.. ) were suggesting pretty eye opening warmth for most of the country around mid- Jan. It has backed off that idea a bit, though not as much as earlier..

That said, out of curiosity, been keeping an eye on the weather this winter where i used to live in Kansas. Quite impressed w/ how "mild" it has been thus far there.. Would have enjoyed such winters the entire time id lived there.. While an afternoon in the mid 50's is chilly here, same highs constitute t-shirt weather there.

54F with a mix of sun and cloud.  Long term forecasts are showing some freezing nights around mid month - hope it changes.

54F rainy and grey since 2am...

57F currently, with no wind. It is really nice outside. Should be above freezing tonight and tomorrow night.
took advantage to give a good watering before the cold air moves in from the mountains this upcoming week.

Was low 60s today and overcast, now it's 45f at nearly 11pm. Next few days should get pretty darn cold and then a warm up after the 8th.

Currently sitting at 57F at midnight here. I'm not expecting it to drop below 55F tonight.

I haven't experienced a frost in well over a month now and there doesn't appear to be any chance of a frost over the next 10 days. Like last year, this winter has been exceptionally mild so far. Central London still hasn't dropped below freezing and I'm pretty sure it won't this month now, looking at the long term forecast.

My Phoenix Theophrasti has put out a number of new fronds and spears over the past few weeks and the Musa Basjoo bananas are starting to push out growth again. I also noticed quite a bit of blossom on the trees while walking the dog late this evening.

Your coconuts will grow with no dramas at all in that weather Alex.

December was wet for us, 9.34" of rain, but quite mild. Next week more rain in the 70's.

61F right now and I’m sitting outside on my lunch break in a t-shirt. Not a single cloud in the sky. I’m still waiting for winter to arrive.

It might get chilly tonight though under the clear skies. I’m expecting a low of 40F, after havin a week of 50-55F nighttime lows.

It’s 45F now but just looked at temps expected for next Wednesday and 25F!!! Dark Skies app had put up a near freeze warning notification for me this morning (Expected around 33F) and this whole week coming up has lows in 30s, dancing in the low 30s. Highs only in 50s. Was just thinking this has been a mild winter for the SF Bay area. Grrr or should I saw Brrr.

Frost cloth time for some our our plants. All of our palms can handle it, been there once before a few years back but just hoping it doesn’t get that cold. Can’t forget to water during the day. Did get a little rain this morning.

Zone 9b (formerly listed as Zone 9a); Sunset 14

66 and partly cloudy, warmest day here since November. Quite windy though, had to pick up a few plants this morning.

Currently warm and sunny out (70°F), not a cloud in the sky. We typically have days like this every now in then in the winter, but this winter we have had a lot so far.

62-68F around the area atm under wall to wall sunshine. Good afternoon for getting ahead of the weeds which are starting to bolt. Looks like 38-40F tonight, 68-72F tomorrow with mid-70s possible by mid week. maybe some rain by the weekend, but stays mild.. More 70s currently forecast for most, if not all next week.. Nights moderate a bit.. back into the 44-48F range..

Need a little more rain, but rain we've had looks good enough to push quite a display out front in the weeks ahead..

Discovered the first sign of spring yesterday.. 6 days ahead of last year.  Lots of buds on others.. Warmer temps this week should push more flowers.

Another tease, just for Doug,  @greysrigging,   Getting a little closer.. Maybe fully open later this week..  Lots of additional buds in various stages of development atm as well..:greenthumb:

Currently 54F at 3am here. I now haven't experienced a frost for 5 weeks here, not since the first week of December. All that is due to change as of tomorrow though, with a cold front moving in and clear skies at night. I might see 3-4 nights in a row down to 29-30F. Not that it would damage anything. The Queens and Chambeyronia were unscathed from 27.5F back in late November, so I'm not fretting. I'm still expecting the days to warm up to 45-50F during this 'cold' period.

Looks like London might even get down to freezing on Sunday and Monday night. It could be the first frost of winter for central London, but I doubt London City airport and east central along the Thames will drop below 33-34F. They seem to have a ridiculously mild microclimate there, where even Roystonia Regia has been growing unprotected the past few years. I've seen several decent sized Royals along the river there. My own Royal however got fried by that 27.5F low, so that will be getting protected this time around.

Cold has finally come!  Could dip pretty cold by Tuesday but one thing is for sure the 60s and up are gone for the conceivable future. I think I saw mid 50s at the end of the cold snap but that's too far out to really count on. Currently 29f...low hit 26f last night.

Hate to do forecasts in this thread,

Here is the forecast for coastal San Diego.

Inland is a horse of a different color....

46°F and sunny, had measurable snow yesterday for the first time in over a month, it’s been melting since last night and should be gone by the end of the day.

The “pattern flip” from mild to cold looks like it won’t be happening, I see two days of cold (nothing severe) followed by one day close to average before it all reverts back to mild.

Still a zone 8b winter here and it looks to remain that way through the rest of January.

This looks like mid to late April in NYC. We had one day of this last weekend and it’s all I’ve been thinking about.

Warming up. No freezing temperatures forecasted.

on a side note, I put a thermometer in the shade on the back patio, as it is noticeable warmer during the day than the surrounding air temperature.

Beautiful, Sunny Sunday and cracking the 80F mark for the first time in 2020.. At least according to the W. Underground station located roughly 2 miles away in downtown Chandler..

Chandler Muni. Airport on the other hand is hanging around 71-73F. Appears both the NOAA and Accuweather use that site for their Temp. readings. Closest personal WX stations to the house moving through the mid/upper 70s atm. Looks similar for tomorrow, then a brief dip to 67-69F Tuesday, before 70-76F the rest of the coming week.. Perfect.
