Min of 14c with a high of 16.3c with 78% humidity, not bad for the last day of October. My acacia dealbata has started to flower again. Need to do a lot of updates as well as ones from Cornwall and the Tresco abbey gardens from my visit in Aug, the queen palm at Lamorran gardens is looking great, which proves they can grow in areas of the UK with less summer heat than London as well.

Forecast low of 38 so if it ain't in the ground it got brought into the grow room. Freaking endless summer in there, the plants may never want to leave.

It has been very mild here lately. Nighttime minimums barely going below 14C / 57F.

The lowest temperature in the whole of England last night was +8.3C / 47F at Great Dun Fell mountain summit (847m). Even the Cairngorm mountain summit in the Scottish highlands at 1,237m elevation only fell to +2.1C / 36F.

Expecting temperatures around 18C / 64F the next few days and near record breaking nighttime minimums. London is looking at potentially 4 consecutive nights above 14C / 58F and possibly a nighttime minimum of up to 16C / 64F. Very mild for November.

90 today  ( a record if we hit it )

Upper to mid 80s to start the week / lows 55 - 65.

Low 80s and 70s later on ..and perhaps some rain returning to the forecast ( maybe a lot too ) as the region enters a cooler and more unsettled pattern around mid month.

Otherwise,  all is great / nothin to whine about  in state 48.

I've read those are extremely invasive with seeds that remain viable for years. Aren't you worried London will become a little Australia soon?

It's been raining almost every day the last 40 days here. I knew west Greece is much wetter than Athens, where I used to live, but I wasn't expecting this. It's raining right now too, a quite heavy rain. The temperature is surprisingly high at 20C / 68F at 7am but I bet it won't go much higher than that later in the day, perhaps 21 or 22. Temperatures have been hovering from a minimum of 14C/57F to a maximum of 23C/73F for few weeks now.

Surprisingly, my heat loving plants keep growing rather fast

That's really special, because as I remember it, it's rather dry where you are, or rather, it doesn't rain as often and for as long.

However, I'm glad to hear that your exotic plants are thriving.

Here, it was really cold for the first time this morning, with 0.3 degrees Celsius in the community garden, now it's 9.3 degrees Celsius and rising.

Same minimum that I had this morning, 13C. The mornings have been exceptionally mild here so far this month. I have attached the data for London. Out of 12 nights, 5 of them have been 13C+ and 8 of the 12 nights have been 10C+. The lowest so far is +6.2C.

Screenshot2025-11-12at21_45_31.png.7e773e55bbeebd99ede8262cfe5b4d6a.png

This is all about to change however. Winter properly arrives next week. For some, it will be a proper freeze event, especially Scotland and Scandinavia. Central Europe may get clobbered as well. We will need to watch the models.

I have seen a few in the UK before, but it's not a particularly common plant at the moment. At least with London being very urban it will likely be significantly more difficult for them to spread compared to say Cornwall.

A cool, drippy, and cloudy ( for now ) 60f at 10:28am after 3 days of decent rain, and some very monsoon- y thunderstorm activity over the past few days...

More showers ..or a nice, quick soaking by the weekend,  before things dry out as we reach thanksgiving.

Clouds / showers keep temps in the 60s for the next few,  before maybe reaching 80 by thanksgiving.

Lows hang in the mid to upper 40s to somewhere in the 50s.

Perfect " fall" weather in the desert.

Currently 54.2f/12.3c at 6.30am with 87% humidity. Going for a high of 59f/15c later today. So far this year London has had 16inches of rainfall which is slightly below average.  Almost every model is suggesting an above average winter this year. Not bad weather this week.

Sunny and nice today with 20 C max (68 F). We went for cycling with husband. We don't do autumn colours here, everything stays green.

Real winter here starts end of December normally.

Those are pleasant temperatures, Than. We had 16 degrees Celsius with a warm wind on Monday afternoon. Today it's foggy and 2.3 degrees Celsius, with temperatures possibly rising to 11 degrees Celsius.

The next 7 days will be similar, with a minimum of 2 degrees Celsius and a maximum of 11 degrees Celsius...

The fog has a somewhat mystical effect...

My cold microclimate has shown its teeth this morning. I had 4.5 C in my garden before sunrise and very high humidity, around 90%; much colder than the temperature on the coast, few km away, where it was ~10 C. We've had clear skies for 3 days now and every night seems to get colder than the previous ones. Clear skies will continue for another few days at least. I wasn't expecting such lows so early in the season, as our real winter usually starts around Christmas, and now I am more pessimistic about many of my plants. 😒

Yes, that's true. Clear nights may look beautiful with the starry sky and everything, but for us exotic plant lovers, they're not exactly ideal in winter because of the very cold temperatures that result...
We really hope that everyone in their respective areas has a mild winter, with few sub-zero temperatures that are tolerable for palm trees and exotic plants... I think that would be a great Christmas present.
Yes, Than, I'll keep my fingers crossed that it doesn't get too cold, so that everyone gets through the winter in good health.
