Do any of you trim the ragged frond tips (yellowed, brown, split).  This is mainly on Fortunei.   If so do you have any input on palm health of this practice?  I usually clip them.

My lady palm lets out a delicate little yelp when I do it.

But seriously, It will do no harm to clean them up as you describe. If you want to be especially careful, dip your trimming tool in a 70% (or greater) alcohol solution to avoid spreading pathogens.

I do the same as well. I usually pinch off or gently tare the dried up fronds or petiole if I could. When you cut the petioles off make sure you disinfect the tools before & after the end of each use especially when switching to different palm trees. It's a good way to transfer diseases if you dont.

I leave them alone. The frond only gets cut when its 100% brown. No open wounds on my plants.

Yes I wish I could control myself.  It's probably best to leave them I suspect.  But probably doesn't hurt them much I'm hoping.

I'm the same, I won't cut a frond until it's completely had the life sucked out of it.  Crispy and brown is the only time I take any off.

@Allen takes every fiber of my being sometimes not to cut it off, but it's worth it! I still have at least half of last years fronds still on my palms and they look bad but still have green on them so its contributing a little and in my area every little bit helps! :D
