Syagrus schizophylla x romanzoffiana (the palm in the photo). Likely self-pollinated, although there are regular romanzoffiana in the area.

Ahh, so maybe a back cross with a queen or maybe a S.monty....either way it'd be a shame if you had too many of them germinate and had to sell some

This is a great hybrid, get yourself one if you can find it. I really like the thin trunk.

I gave this palm a fresh haircut and trim - i have to say that it looks amazing that way

Did you cut them open? I have had seed sink, I cut them open, and no embryo. Some even hollow.

I've cut a few and didn't find any embryos. Figured I'd sow a good handful of them to see if any of them sprout but so far none have.
